Pisara Pure and the 2026 Material Renewal

What is Pisara Pure?

Pisara Pure is the new core material used in Pisara bathroom furniture. It replaces the previous wood-based core solution and has been developed specifically to withstand the demanding conditions of the bathroom.

Why was the core material of Pisara bathroom furniture changed?

We changed the core material because we wanted to extend the product life cycle and reduce the need for virgin raw materials. The renewal improves both durability and environmental performance.

Does the look or feel change with the renewal?

The familiar Pisara look and feel remain the same. The core changes, but the furniture still looks and feels like Pisara, as the visible surface material is the same type of high-quality matte laminate finish.

The overall weight is slightly reduced, and the collection is also updated with a new colour option, Sand (Hiekka).

What do industrial side streams mean?

In the production of Pisara Pure bathroom furniture, industrial side streams refer to material flows generated in industrial manufacturing that are recovered and reused.

What is polyurethane? How is it used in Pisara furniture?

Polyurethane is a versatile material used in many areas of construction and interior environments. You probably already have polyurethane somewhere in your home, for example, in insulation, seals or structural materials.

Polyurethane is a non-toxic, odourless and safe material.

The core of Pisara bathroom furniture is made from a 100 percent recycled polyurethane mix recovered from the side streams of European factories. The mix includes laminate, aluminium and binders. The material is first ground and then hot pressed into board form.

Does furniture made from polyurethane have an odour?

Polyurethane itself is odourless. When new, the products may have a mild “new material” scent, as many plastics and laminates do. This fades quickly with time and ventilation.

What does the name Pure refer to?

Pure refers to a cleaner environment and to recycled polyurethane: PolyUrethane Recycled.

What is a matte laminate finish?

The surface of Pisara bathroom furniture is made from high-quality Finnish matte laminate, which completes the look and feel of the furniture. The surface is pleasant to the touch and designed to withstand moisture, scratches and abrasion.

It is available in three colours.

The wood texture finishes do not have the same matte surface. Their surface is “Natural”, designed to imitate the appearance of natural wood.

What does seamless edge technology mean, and how does it differ from traditional glueing?

Seamless edge technology is an edging method that creates a cleaner and more durable joint in the surface material. It also reduces the risk of moisture getting under the surface.

It improves hygiene by helping prevent dirt and bacteria from entering the seam. Unlike a traditional glued seam, it does not yellow or become brittle over time.

Installation, Care and Cleaning

Is Pisara bathroom furniture easy to keep clean?

Yes. Pisara bathroom furniture is easy to care for and keep clean. The surface has excellent stain resistance and helps prevent colours from fading. Fingerprints do not show on the matte surface as easily as on a glossy surface.

The laminate also has excellent resistance to water, chemicals, abrasion, scratches and impacts.

The seamless edge finish improves hygiene by helping prevent bacteria and dirt from building up in the seams.

Of the basin options, cast marble is the easiest to care for. The Evermite-coated basin in the Soilu model deserves a special mention.

How is the furniture installed?

You can find installation instructions and model drawings on the Documentation and Instructions page.

It does not attract mould, crumble or rot. Read more about the material properties on the Pisara Pure page.

Is Pisara furniture material non-toxic and safe?

Pisara Pure is a biologically safe material. It does not rot or attract mould. The product contains no formaldehyde and is M1 emission classified.

The surface material also has GREENGUARD Gold certification, which guarantees very low chemical emissions.

What does M1 emission classification mean?
