Purpose of the processing of personal data

Personal data is used for the purposes of offering the products of the company to customers and the maintenance of customer relationships, delivery of products, processing, and archival. Data is processed based on a customer relationship between the customer and the service provider, use of the website, and a separate express consent of the customer. Email addresses are used for marketing our products and for sending newsletters, and we ask each customer if they wish to be added to our mailing list during registration.

Data Content of the Register

Information provided by the data subjects themselves, such as name; address; email address; telephone number; delivery address; business ID for corporate customers; payment and payment method information; and identifying information, such as personal identity code, where a credit agreement is concluded in order to identify the customer.

Information provided by the data subjects and business information in public registers.

Regular Disclosure of Data

Data will not be regularly disclosed to third parties other than the technical administrator of the server on which our website is hosted (hereinafter referred to as “Robodog Oy”), our payment service provider, the company acting as the supplier, the transport company that completes the delivery of the order, and the accounting firm and accountant.

Principles of Data Protection

The technical administrator of our website’s server has access to website information. The administrator does not have the right to use the information in its business activities, and the administrator will act responsibly in accordance with the accepted practices and the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

The database can only be accessed by certain employees of OPDECO Oy, Robodog Oy, and Seravo Oy.

Retention of Personal Data and Register Maintenance

The customer data is stored in Opdeco’s customer register. All personal data is protected against unauthorized access and unlawful processing. Personal data is stored for as long as necessary for the realization of the intended uses specified in this privacy statement. The exercise and performance of obligations provided by legislation on accounting and consumer trade require that some personal data is retained even after the customer agreement has expired. OPDECO confirms that reasonable measures are taken to ensure that personal data that are incompatible, outdated, or incorrect in terms of the purposes of the processing of personal data are not retained.

Rights of the Customer

The customer has the right to request access to their data and the right to demand the rectification of inaccurate data. Personal data pertaining to a customer can be erased from the register upon request by the customer if this is not prevented by legislation (for example the Finnish Accounting Act). We do not disclose information to third parties for direct marketing purposes, but customers do have the right to specifically prohibit the disclosure of data under the Finnish Data Protection Act.

Third-party Services

The third-party operators we work with are committed to acting responsibly and in accordance with the accepted practices and the EU General Data Protection Regulation. We use the Heeros invoicing software for invoicing and the Visma Netvisor service for accounting. We do not use personal data included on invoices for direct marketing purposes. We also convey information to the following third parties: Analytics partners, transport companies when the customer chooses a delivery to an address specified by them, the supplier of the product when a customer purchases a direct delivery product, and a collection agency when an invoice has become due and been sent to collection.

Notification of Data Breaches

We will notify all relevant parties and the Data Security Ombudsman of any data breaches in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation.

Possible Changes to the Privacy Notice

As our services and legislation are constantly evolving, we retain the right to make changes to this privacy notice. Our customers will be notified of any significant changes to the privacy notice when the change is made.
